STILLWATER, Okla. —
The schedule is set for the 2013 Big 12 Wrestling Championships, hosted by Oklahoma State University in Gallagher-Iba Arena March 8-9.
The action begins on two mats Friday, with Oklahoma State battling West Virginia and Oklahoma tangling with Iowa State at 11 a.m. Immediately after those duals end (approximately 1 p.m.), Oklahoma State and Iowa State square off on one mat, with the Sooners and Mountaineers on the other.
After a break, the action resumes at 7 p.m., highlighted by the Bedlam Dual between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. West Virginia and Iowa State will battle on the other mat. The Bedlam Dual will be televised by Fox Sports Southwest – it is the only televised action of the weekend.
Upon conclusion of the 7 p.m. duals, the Big 12 regular-season championship trophy will be awarded.
The coaches will gather at 9 a.m. the next morning to seed the tournament part of the Big 12 Championships. The announcement of the seedings will follow immediately after seeds are determined.
The wrestling action revs back up with semifinal bouts taking place on two mats starting at 5 p.m. Saturday. The championship and third-place bouts will take place simultaneously on two mats starting at approximately 7 p.m. with any potential challenge matches to follow.
The Big 12 tournament championship trophy will be awarded following Saturday night’s action.
