GLENCOE, Okla. —
The Coyle Lady Bluejackets kept their season alive with a 59-43 victory over the Calumet Lady Chieftains in the Class A area consolation Thursday.
Coyle pulled out to a first-quarter lead and led 26-19 at halftime. The Lady Bluejackets pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Calumet 18-8.
“We came out and played really fast and hard,” coach Tom Webb said. “We went to a man defense and got some turnovers. We moved Tyra Aska to high post and they didn’t have an answer for her.”
Aska led the Lady Bluejackets with 25 points. Shilah Young followed with 15. Coyle will face the winner of Oaks-Mission and Kremlin-Hillsdale at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Glenpool High School.
Cushing 50, Tulsa McLain 22
CUSHING — The Cushing Lady Tigers were fighting to keep their season alive — mission accomplished.
Cushing throttled Tulsa McLain 50-22. Cushing’s Karlea Jones led the way with 14 points in the win. Erin Ahrberg chipped in 11 in the blowout.
Cushing will play at home at 1:30 p.m. Friday against the loser of the Berryhill and Oolagah-Talala game.
Summit Christian 57, Morrison 56
MILLWOOD — The Morrison Lady Wildcats’ season came to an end with a one-point loss to Summit Christian in the Class 2A regional consolation game.
Jacey Bales led Morrison with 16 points. Jamie Lovely followed closely with 15. The Lady Wildcats close out their season 14-10.
Tonkawa 42, Pawnee 25
RAMONA — The Pawnee Lady Black Bears move to the consolation bracket of regionals after a loss to Tonkawa.
Jaidan Alley was the leading scorer with 16 points. Pawnee (11-12) faces Oklahoma Union in the consolation bracket at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Kiefer.
Coyle 44, Crossings Christian 42
GLENPOOL — The Coyle Bluejackets survived in overtime of the area consolations against Crossings Christian.
Ryan Weathers was the leading scorer with 20, almost half of Coyle’s points. McLeod contributed 11.
The Bluejackets (16-12) will play Drummond at 3 p.m. Friday in the next round of consolation.
