Ripley baseball slips past Pawnee

RIPLEY, Okla. — Fresh off a Cimarron 7 Conference championship, the Ripley High School baseball team extended its winning streak to seven games with a 5-2 victory over Pawnee Monday.

Caulden Greenfield went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Garret Gosney added a double and two more RBIs as the Warriors (13-4) scored four runs in the third inning.

“We’ve really been swinging some hot bats lately,” Ripley coach Donnie Hoffman said. “Houston Twoguns hit some nice at ‘em balls, but we were able to get the win. We didn’t let it get to us and I was pleased with our approach at the plate.”

Freshman Trevor Watts (2-0) went all seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out seven to earn the win.

Levi Morris also had a double and an RBI in the bottom of the first to get Ripley on the scoreboard.

The Warriors will travel to Oilton for a 7 p.m. game Tuesday.
