Glencoe softball edges Morrison in nine innings

GLENCOE, Okla. — Macy Dickens went 4-for-5 with two RBIs — including the game winner — as the Glencoe Lady Panthers softball team overcame a five-run deficit in the seventh inning to defeat Morrison 7-6 in nine innings Monday.

Trailing 6-1 in the bottom of the sxith, Glencoe (10-3) strung together six hits, including Lyndsie Cook’s two-run double and Dickens’ game-tying single to force extra innings.

With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Dickens came through again with a single to right center field, scoring Robin Porter for the game winner.

Porter (10-3) picked up the win for the Lady Panthers, while Jessica Hutchinson also went 4-for-5 with two runs to help lead Glencoe’s offense.

Both Glencoe and Morrison will co-host a three-day festival that begins Thursday.
