Greenfield scored 21 points and helped the Warriors knock off Oilton 58-44 in Friday’s season opener. Ripley trailed after the first quarter but outscored Oilton 30-17 in the second and third quarters.
Scott VanDorn, Morrison football
VanDorn was a solid second option in the Wildcats’ running game, picking up 73 yards on 11 carries. VanDorn also caught a pair of passes for 18 yards, helping the Wildcats to a 38-12 first-round victory over Fairland Friday.
Cole McKnight, Cushing football
Though his team lost, McKnight was a key target for quarterback Bingham Hightower in the first round of the 3A state playoffs against Blanchard Friday. McKnight caught six passes for 109 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Darreal Williams, Perry football
Williams rushed for 137 yards and scored on a 70-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter that helped Perry move within a touchdown of Millwood on Friday. Williams also caught two passes for 62 yards.
Austin Allen, Perry football
The senior running back helped the Maroons move the ball on offense, rushing for 101 yards on 30 carries and scoring two touchdowns. Late in the fourth quarter Allen recovered an onside kick that gave Perry a chance to drive for the win. The seniors’ rushing total made him a two-time 1,000 yard rusher.
