STILLWATER, Okla. —
Two state newspapers are reporting Oklahoma State wide receiver Michael Harrison will not play for OSU’s football team next season.
The Tulsa World and The Oklahoman cited unnamed sources concerning Harrison’s status. The Oklahoman doesn’t say the third-year sophomore is off the team. It quotes an unnamed source as saying OSU was “not counting on him” playing in 2012.
The NCAA briefly ruled Harrison academically ineligible prior to the 2011 season, but he was reinstated before OSU’s season opener.
The World said Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy hadn’t addressed the situation, but cited a source as saying Harrison has been suspended for the entire 2012 season.
An Oklahoma State University athletic department spokesman told the NewsPress on Monday that the football program doesn’t “have anything official at this point.”
