Carney softball rolls over Olive, Mulhall-Orlando

CARNEY, Okla. — The Carney Lady Bulldogs added some key victories with a 9-6 win over Olive on Thursday and a 12-0 victory over Mulhall-Orlando on Friday.

Shelby Hover was the winning pitcher in both games. Coach Lindsey Freeman said she is throwing the ball well.

“She keeps throwing them in there,” Freeman said. “We’ve made some mistakes but we are hitting the ball well and putting it in play.”

The Lady Bulldogs (10-2) have several players contributing offensively as most of the team is hitting over .400. Andy Bailey is leading the team with a .500 batting average. Jaden Lawhead is hitting close to .400. Freeman said he’s pleased with how his team is hitting the ball.

“I can’t complain,” Freeman said. “We are rolling pretty good. “This week will tell the tale about us.”

The Lady Bulldogs (10-2) play at Agra 4 p.m. Monday, at Glencoe on Tuesday and compete in the Conference Tournament at Coyle Thursday through Saturday.
