Cowboys prepare for second non-conference meeting with Bedlam rival

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State’s trip back from Morgantown, W. Va., may have  been long but at least the Cowboys had something to look forward to — a nonconference meeting at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium with rival Oklahoma.

The Cowboys (26-10) and the Sooners (23-13) will face each other one last time before the three-game conference series at the end of the regular season. The in-state rivals will meet each other for Bedlam at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The first meeting this year between OSU and OU was controlled by the Cowboys. On April 1, OSU stormed Norman and came away with a 3-1 victory. During the win Gage Green and Tim Arakawa hit solo home runs in the same inning. The two hits over the rightfield wall proved to be the difference in the game.

No. 16 Oklahoma State’s trip to West Virginia was long but the result was worth it. The Cowboys swept the Mountaineers and pushed their winning streak to five games. OSU is red-hot with an 11-2 record in the last 13 games.

The Sooners are looking for something different to happen. Oklahoma is riding a four-game skid coming into the rivalry game after getting swept by Texas at home. The last time the Sooners were on the field they suffered an 8-1 beating in the series finale with the Longhorns on Sunday.
