GLENCOE, Okla. —
The Lady Panthers pulled away in the second quarter to advance to the Class A District 6 championship with a 68-22 victory over the South Coffeyville Lady Lions.
Kelsey Castlebury hit four 3-pointers in the second quarter and Jessica Hutchinson hit one to help Glencoe outscore South Coffeyville 23-8 to take a 33-12 halftime lead. Castlebury led the Lady Panthers with 15. Hutchinson followed with 13 and senior Summer Jeffries contributed 10.
Glencoe plays host to Olive at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The boys face South Coffeyville in the finals at 8 p.m. and look to improve to 25-0.
Frontier 68, Henryetta-Wilson 54
FRONTIER — The Mustangs rallied in the second half to knock off the Tigers 68-54 in the Class A District 7 semifinals.
Frontier (7-19) trailed 38-30 at halftime but outscored Wilson 23-10 in the third to hold a five-point lead. Coach Bob Weckstein said he was pleased with his players.
“They responded,” Weckstein said. “It was a big third quarter and they did what they had to, to win.”
Landon Norman led the Mustangs with 29 points. Talon Harris and Roy Childs each contributed 14. Frontier plays host to Riverfield Country Day School for the championship at 8 p.m.
Agra 50, Wetumka 26
NEW LIMA — The Lady Bearcats jumped out early in a 50-26 victory over the Lady Chieftains in the semifinals of the Class A District 3 championship.
“We played on good defense,” coach Jon Peveler said. “We were a little worried after seeing their offense but we clamped down defensively. We slowly increased the lead.
Taylor Roe led Agra with 16 points. The Lady Bearcats play the tournament host New Lima for the championship at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Perkins-Tryon 32, Prague 25
PERKINS — Senior McKenzie Stanford scored nine points to help lead the Lady Demons past the Lady Devils 32-25. Perkins-Tryon visits Cushing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
