BARNSDALL, Okla. — The Glencoe Lady Panthers have been strong offensively all season except on Thursday when they needed to the most. The Barnsdall Lady Panthers swept the Lady Panthers 13-0 and 5-2 in a Class A district championship.

“We couldn’t get our bats going,” Glencoe coach Tabitha Wright said. “It’s not the result we were looking for. I’m disappointed but we will take the momentum from this and work hard for next season.”

The Lady Panthers finished 17-8 with freshman pitcher Alicia Place recording all the decisions. In the second game, Jessica Hutchinson and Brianna Martin scored Glencoe’s runs. Martin went 2 for 3 in the game to lead the Lady Panthers. Glencoe will lose three seniors: Lyndsie Cook Tessa McCauley and Huthinson. Wright said she is proud of how the team played.

“They worked hard all season. Today our bats just weren’t with us,” Wright said. “We didn’t quit and we fought untill the end. We do lose three seniors and that will leave a whole in our lineup next year. I’m proud of the girls.”
