STILLWATER, Okla. —
On March 1, 2014, ESPN’s College GameDay will broadcast live from Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, it was announced Wednesday. Oklahoma State will face Kansas that evening at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
“We are thrilled that ESPN’s College GameDay has decided to come to Oklahoma State this basketball season,” OSU coach Travis Ford said. “It is both a unique and wonderful experience for both the fans and our team. Every Saturday, college basketball fans wake up and tune in to ESPN to see where GameDay is going to be. On March 1st, it’s going to be in a rowdy Gallagher-Iba Arena.”
College GameDay, entering its 10th season, is an eight-week Saturday morning and evening college basketball program originating from the site of ESPN’s Saturday Primetime Presented by DIRECTV telecast. The first hour begins at 9 a.m. on ESPNU, continuing at 10 a.m. on ESPN with a one-hour evening edition leading into the Saturday Primetime Game of the Week on ESPN. Rece Davis will serve as host for College GameDay. He will be joined by analysts Jay Bilas, Digger Phelps and Jalen Rose to preview all the day’s action and discuss the biggest storylines in college basketball.
“Over the past 10 years, College GameDay and the Saturday Primetime series have become a weekly showcase of the best the sport has to offer and this year’s schedule promises to deliver a collection of the biggest and best games from across the country,” said Nick Dawson, senior director, programming & acquisitions.
This will be the second visit to Stillwater by College GameDay for a basketball game. In its inaugural season, ESPN came to Stillwater on March 5, 2005, in conjunction with the launch of ESPNU.
