Ripley, Glencoe, Morrison, M-O close in on regional berths

RIPLEY, Okla. —

The Class A No. 7 Ripley Warriors made quick work of the Davenport Bulldogs and the Agra Bearcats to move within a victory of advancing to regionals Thursday.

The Warriors (20-9) needed four innings to dispose of Davenport 12-0. Houston Twoguns went 3 for 3 and Trevor Watts went 2 for 2 with two doubles. Chandler Salinas earned the win and struck out nine. Ripley run-ruled Agra 13-1 after three innings. Cory Sadler earned the win. Garrett Gosney went 2 for 3 with a double. Trevor Watts hit a double and Cody Romine went 1 for 1 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Agra opened the tournament with a 10-9 victory over Davenport and will play Ripley at 3:30 p.m. Friday for the district championship.

Glencoe beats Rejoice Christian and Dove Science

GLENCOE — The Class A No. 11 Glencoe Panthers are a win away from advancing to regionals after a 7-4 victory over Rejoice Christian and a 16-1 victory over Dove Science. 

J.K. Hadlock started for the Panthers against Rejoice and earned the win. Ty Lazenby provided the offensive spark with four hits. Andrew Kuhn was the winning pitcher in the second game. Glencoe (18-9) play Rejoice Christian at 1 p.m. Friday to earn a spot in next week’s regional tournament. 

Morrison sweeps Barnsdall and Woodland

MORRISON — The Class A No. 16 Morrison Wildcats are a win away from advancing to regionals after a 10-1 victory over Woodland and a 7-5 victory over Barnsdall.

Jordan Quinata earned the victory and Ty Stout got the save against Woodland. Josh Hite was the winning pitcher against Barnsdall and Stout earned the save. The Wildcats rematch with Barnsdall at 4 p.m. Friday.

Mulhall-Orlando sweeps Oilton and Prue

OILTON — The Panthers are a victory away from the Class B regionals after a 12-2 victory over Prue and a 13-1 victory over Oilton.

Sam Schwartz earned the win against Prue. M-O had several players contribute offensively as Joseph Pfeiffer and Jarrod Cameron each had two RBIs. Thomas Richardson and Gage Schrammel each hit triples. Lane Gorrell hit a double.
