NEW: Former Oklahoma State wrestler Coleman Scott wins bronze

LONDON — Former Oklahoma State wrestler Coleman Scott joined the elite group of Olympic medalists from OSU on Saturday.

Scott won the bronze medal in the men's 60-kilogram freestyle at the 2012 Summer Olympics by beating Kenichi Yumoto of Japan 0-1, 3-0, 3-1.

Scott lost in the championship semifinals to Azerbaijan's Toghrul Asgarov - who went on to win the gold medal, upsetting Besik Kudukhov of Russia 1-0, 5-0.

Scott was the only former Oklahoma State athlete to compete in this year's Olympics in London.

Cowboy wrestlers have won more summer Olympic medals (16) than 71 countries have in their all-sports history.
