SHIDLER, Okla. —
The hits came early and often for the Glencoe High School baseball team as they pounded out 17 hits in a 13-3 rout over Shidler Monday.
Claytin Beaver went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and hit his second home run of the season, while Andrew Kuhn went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs as the Panthers (8-3) jumped out to a 7-0 lead by the second inning and never looked back.
“We hit the ball really hard,” Glencoe coach Tony Cazzelle said. “When we hit the ball like that, we’re really hard to beat.”
Shidler closed the gap with two runs in the bottom of the third before Glencoe put the game out of reach with three runs in the top of the fourth.
Ty Lazenby (3-0) picked up the win, allowing two runs in three innings. He also struck out five and walked one before giving way to Beaver, who closed out the game.
Glencoe will host Frontier Tuesday at 4 p.m.
