STILLWATER, Okla. — Though Oklahoma State's season is far from over, Saturday's game against Texas Tech will mark the end for one group of Cowboy football players.

The OSU senior class will be playing in its final home game at Boone Pickens, as the OSU football team will celebrate the seniors before the 2:30 p.m. kickoff on FSN.

"They've done really well. Early in the season we talked about them creating an identity and developing some team chemistry. As the season has gone on, they've worked hard at it and they've accomplished a lot as a group," OSU coach Mike Gundy said of his senior class.

"You have teams that have to really work to create that based on losing a lot of leadership from the year before, and these guys have rallied and stayed together through good times and some tough times. I'm proud of them for what they've accomplished to this point and they need to lead us all the way through."

For offensive lineman Lane Taylor, it mark an end to a tremendous career in which he started in every game his four years in Stillwater since taking over the starting role in the third game of his freshman season.

"It's going to be tough. I've played so many games in this stadium," Taylor said. "There are a lot of good memories, and I've done a lot in this stadium. It will be tough for it to be the last one.

"I think before the game and after the game is when I'll think about it the most. It's gone by a lot quicker than I thought it would. Four years I was here, and I always thought I had thousands of games left. Before you know it, I'm here now on the last week of playing here."

As for senior defensive end Cooper Bassett, Saturda will cap a dream for the native of Tuttle - growing up a Cowboy fan in Oklahoma.

"It's going to be a really special day for me. I grew up an Oklahoma State fan and it means a lot," Bassett said. "I was talking about it with my family last week and how this could be the last time they come to Stillwater for a game for a really long time and it just kind of sunk in then.

"I just want to enjoy every second of it and soak everything in. I am going to stay focused on the game and try not to let my emotions get the best of me until afterwards. I am sure after the game I will take a moment to let all those emotions soak in and hit me then but before the game we are going to try to just maintain focus on beating Texas Tech."
