STILLWATER, Okla. — J.W. Walsh has a big week ahead.
The Oklahoma State redshirt freshman quarterback will head to Dallas on the back half for the Heart of Dallas Bowl, while the first part will be spent in Abilene, Texas, with family - lots of a family - for the Christmas holiday.
"Our entire family lives there and we spend the whole week there with all the uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents. It's always just one big family ordeal," Walsh said. "It's always something we look back on and think of how fun it is. For them it won't change because there are so many people that go that it would be too much to change for one guy."
While Walsh won't get the usual week's worth of Walsh family Christmas since the Cowboys are scheduled to fly into Dallas on Thursday, he said many of the family members will get to see him on New Year's Day when they make the trip to the bowl game.
"I think quite a few of them will be there," Walsh said. "That's what is so great about playing in Dallas, being so close to home, family get to come."
