Not guilty plea entered in fatal hit-and-run case

— ENID, Okla. (AP) — An Enid man has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge in connection with a hit-and-run that killed an 18-month-old girl.

Alfonso Castellanos Jr. is charged with leaving the scene of a fatality accident in the June 16 collision that killed Carlianna Nathan. He entered the not guilty plea during arraignment Thursday in Garfield County District Court.

His attorney declined further comment other than to say Castellanos "feels bad" about the incident.

Police say witnesses to the collision told officers the driver of the sport utility vehicle that hit the girl stopped and opened the door before speeding away from the scene.
