Stilly Guide to Summer's Best Concerts and Music Festivals

STILLWATER, Okla. — If you feel like getting your groove on this summer, you’ll have more than enough opportunities. No matter your style of music or your choice of venue, Oklahoma will be rocking til' the cows come home.


May 27-29

Catch the Fever Music & Festival Grounds, Pryor, OK

In a glorius mash-up of hard rock and 80’s hair bands, Rocklahoma will be the place to be to kick off a hot summer. The three-day event will be host to over 50,000 fans of metal, motorcycles and maybe even mullets.

There are over 6,000 assigned seats, but over 50,000 general admission tickets sold for lawn seats. If you plan on staying overnight there is over 4,000 campsites, on-site parking, bathroom facilities and overnight security.

The lineup features a little of everything for the rock fan. There’s your 80’s rock bands: Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Poison and Sebastian Bach.

Then there’s your hard rock bands: Staind, Papa Roach, Hinder, Seether, Sick Puppies, Saving Abel, Black Label Society and Drowning Pool just to name a few.

Backwoods Bash Music & Camping Festival

May 27-29

Keystone Lake, Prue, OK

If hard metal deafining rock vocals aren’t quite your thing, head down the road to Keystone Lake for Backwoods Bash.

The three-day, family friendly event features a wide range of music and a ton of camping fun. It is kid friendly and aside from music, there will be swimming, fishing and boating.

The wide range of music features a ton of styles, such as indie rock, jazz, hip hop, red dirt, reggae, electronica and plenty more.

Among the bands in this year’s line-up are: Dirfoot, Mountain Sprout, Red Dirt Rangers, The Moai Broadcast, Don Chani, Paul Benjamin Band and Sam and the Stylees.


June 2-5

Mulberry Mountain, Ozark, Arkansas

The four-day event is widely known as the biggest music festival in the midwest, and for the third year in a row is returning to the Ozarks after moving from Lawrence, Kan.

Taking place at Mulberry Mountain means there will be more than just music to take part in too. There is a Friday night costume party, yoga, disc golf, hiking, fishing, float trips and kayaking.

There are also plenty of places to stay, weather it be camping or at a hotel near the festival. There are also patrons selling everything from food to disposable cameras.

There are a ton of acts taking to the five stages, with some fo the biggest names being: My Morning Jacket, Ben Harper and RELENTLESS7, Thievery Corporation, STS9, Bassnectar, Umphrey’s McGee, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Buckethead and Toots and the Maytails.
