Stilly Guide to Summer's Best Concerts and Music Festivals

STILLWATER, Okla. — OK Mozart International Music Festival

Called Oklahoma’s premier music festival, the OK Mozart International Music Festival features a full range of music performed by some of the world’s best.

In the 27th annual event, there will be a little bit of everything for the concert goers. Jazz, Pops, Broadway show tunes and performing arts from the sounds of classical and chamber music.

The C-Series is the largest series and is the core of the festival. It features classical music performed by OK Mozart’s orchestra and chamber music ensemble.

There is also a D-Series that encompasses all aspects of performing arts including concerts held in non-traditional settings. And the X-Series features progressive, cutting-edge performances from outside the box.

Kanrocksas Music Festival

August 5-6

Kansas Speedway, Kansas City, Mo.

The inaugural Kanrocksas Music Festival will be a great way to wrap up the summer with some of the world’s biggest musical acts taking to the stage at Kansas Motor Speedway.

The-two day festival will be competing with Lollapalooza on the same weekend, but no where else in the midwest will fans see a line-up like the one Kansas.

The tickets are a bit steep for a 2-day pass, $179, but there are no service fees and there will be free camping and parking at the event.

Fourteen acts were announced by press time, but organizers have promised to try and fit as many as they can on the card. Already signed on are: Eminem, Muse, Primus, A Perfect Circle, Kid Sudi, the Flaming Lips, the Black Keys and the Arctic Monkeys.
