STILLWATER, Okla. —
The James Price Band is James Price, Travis Loafman, Jesse Eakin and Luke Hunsaker. The band formed in 2007 and has since released a CD titled "Beacon" in 2009 and toured in support of the record. Bass player Eakin describes the record as diverse.
"“The songs, some are just completely different dynamics,” Eakin said. “Some are faster songs. Some are slower. Some of the ones have James playing guitar, which completely changes it.”
Eakin also said that the band draws from very different sources for inspiration. Price believes the band's purpose is to appeal to its fans.
“Honestly, we just want to keep going and try to build a fan base,” he said. “Try to get our songs out there and see where that takes us. If an opportunity like (a record deal) comes and it makes sense, then we’ll definitely take it.”
The group is currently working toward the release of a new EP. While the entire band is happy with what they have accomplished, Price said they are always looking forward.
“I don’t really want to think about what we’ve done and where we’ve been,” said Price. “We want to talk about where we’re going. And that’s what we’re doing right now. Just kind of see where the wind takes us.”
