STILLWATER, Okla. —
Stillwater's own Taddy Porter has seen its career take off with the release of a self-titled album.
Shows like Monday Night Football, ABC's Cougartown, HBO's Entourage and the new WWE Film "Legendary" have all featured Taddy Porter's music. The success the band has seen through these mediums and their self-titled CD has been a shock to the members.
"Never expected it to be this quick," said Kevin Jones.
The band formed in October 2007 and has been extensively touring for the past year. Band member Andy Brewer considers their success bringing attention to Stillwater a "privilege". Joe Selby, the band's lead guitar player, considers their first album "very strong".
"I think it's our best, at that time period of us as a band, that was our best stuff. I think we've grown some since then. We've gotten a lot of great reviews on it and a lot of people say it flows well from beginning to end, which you don't see a lot anymore."
The band looks forward to working on a second album and playing upcoming shows, including one at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa on Nov. 27.
