Children’s barnyard, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. ; Pheiffer Museum open, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; pet parade and show, 6:30 p.m.; carnival opens, 6 p.m.; pigeons, poultry and rabbits show, 6 p.m.; exhibit hall and booths open for viewers, 6 p.m.; Model Railroad Club display, 7 p.m., middle exhibit building; Barnyard Olympics, 7:45 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 25

Payne County Fair, Payne County Expo Center. Dairy cattle show, 9 a.m.; Pheiffer Museum opens, 10 a.m.; carnival opens, 6 p.m.; horse and mule team performance contest, 6 p.m.; Power of the Past antique tractor parade, 6:30 p.m.; Model Railroad Club display, 7 p.m.; draft horse pulling contest, 8 p.m.

OSU farmers’ market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., top floor of the Student Union parking garage.

OSU art department exhibit “Building A Collection: The Larry W. and Mattie R. Harms Collection of African Art,” 5 p.m. closing reception, 6 p.m. panel discussion, Bartlett Center for the Visual Arts.

Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency Boots and Bandanas, 7 p.m., White Barn Estates. Tickets: $60.

Oklahoma Blood Institute blood drive, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Starbucks.

Sunday, Aug. 28

Payne County Fair carnival, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Payne County Expo Center.

Tuesday, Aug. 30

School Night for Scouting, 7 p.m., Highland Park, Sangre Ridge, Skyline, Westwood and Will Rogers elementaries; 7:30 p.m., Richmond Elementary. For boys in first- through fifth-grade.
