Stillwater will showcase the latest in wedding fashion during the Stillwater Bridal Showcase, set to take place at 10 a.m. on Jan. 26 at the Stillwater Community Center with the style show at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door. This is an annual event in which businesses in Stillwater that specialize in wedding preparation showcase what they offer to the Stillwater community.
Everything from floral arrangements to clothing worn by those who take part in a wedding will be showcased for perspective brides and grooms, and others who may take part in a wedding. Showcasing the latest styles and options for wedding-goers range from facial hair etiquette to shoes. Bryson Baker of EVERYMAN, a downtown Stillwater business offering barbershop services, coffee and clothing, said there is an important bond between a man and his barber, especially when dressing up.
“It’s not so much about facial hair or no facial hair. It’s about having really good hygiene and maintaining a good relationship with your barber,” Baker said. “There is a right way to take care of your facial hair at any length and it’s dependent on you. Every gent has a different face shape. A good barber knows where to keep you lines and what products to use to keep you looking your best. So, foster that relationship with your barber and rely on their expertise. The only time I draw a line is when somebody isn’t exercising good beard care. In that case, clean shaven is a fail safe! At EVERYMAN we have four of the best barbers in the city that are experts in providing these kinds of services. Additionally, EVERYMAN carries more mens grooming products than any other destination in Stillwater. Let us keep you looking GQ no matter what’s growing on your face.”
Formal Fantasy owner Stacia Smith said the objective with the Bridal Showcase is to show that people can take care of clothing for anyone involved in the wedding without having to leave Stillwater. The Bridal Showcase is an opportunity for businesses in Stillwater to do just that, as all aspects of wedding preparation will be represented. Businesses will have booths set up to market their respective services to those in attendance.
Students from Oklahoma State University will serve as models for the variety of clothing and hairstyle options that will be on display. There will also be a grand prize giveaway of a honeymoon getaway at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Oklahoma City.
For any aspect of wedding preparation, the Stillwater Bridal Showcase annually offers the latest options available from businesses in the Stillwater area. It helps to showcase that people don’t have to leave Stillwater to take care of all their wedding preparations, as well as keeping local shoppers in local businesses as they prepare for their big day.
“The Bridal Showcase is a great opportunity for brides-to-be to visit face to face with local wedding vendors,” said Jill Hunt, Stillwater News Press advertising director. “We have experts in photography, catering, wedding cakes and wedding fashions who will be on hand to answer questions and showcase their specialties.”
