Oklahoma State was mum until nearly 4 p.m. Monday regarding a basketball player being charged with rape. Darrell Williams, also named Big 12 Rookie of the Week Monday, was charged Monday with three counts of rape by instrumentation and one count of sexual battery.
When a statement from OSU came, it was two sentences:
“It goes without saying that we take the charges very seriously. Darrell will not travel or play while the legal issues are addressed," OSU men's basketball head coach Travis Ford said.
Williams posted $5,000 bond Monday afternoon and was freed. He is to return to court March 7. The charges stem from a party last December.
