Stillwater Women’s Aid will host the annual Ann Baer Scholarship Luncheon Fundraiser on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Varsity Room in Gallagher Iba Arena.

Suggested donation for the meal is $5.

SWA will also have several items for sale in a silent auction: an autographed Minnesota jersey from former OSU football player Kevin Williams; an autographed football from Tatum Bell and teammates from the Detroit Tigers; an autographed Pittsburgh Steelers helmet from Ryan McBean; a round of golf with head golf coach Mike McGraw and one OSU golfer at Karsten Creek Golf Course; and a two-hour house cleaning from Health Care Innovations.

The Ann Baer Scholarship is awarded in honor of Ann Baer, former Oklahoma State Associate athletic director and senior women administrator. The scholarship provides $1,500 in college funds to a graduating college-bound female senior from the Payne County area who is actively involved in community service, demonstrates a strong desire to contribute to society, is a good role model and is aware of the impact she has on others.

Financial need and grade point average are not used as a primary determining factor in choosing the recipient.

Baer co-founded Stillwater Women’s Aid with friend and colleague Agatha D. Adams. The 12-member group meets monthly to try to meet the needs of those in crisis. SWA has contributed to five elementary schools, helped with medical and housing needs for individuals, served at community dinners and responded to those in crisis situations.
