The Payne County Commission accepted on Monday a letter from Lone Chimney Lake, read by Rural Water District No. 4 Manager Twana Chapman, for the construction of a water treatment plant that will help the water crisis there.

The project is estimated to cost between $500,000-$750,000, but the proposed $250,000 grant from the Department of Commerce “will help out tremendously,” Chapman said.

Also Monday, the commission accepted an $11,530 donation from Calvin and Linda Anthony for road work beginning at state Highway 51 and extending south on Redlands Road.

The commission accepted an agreement between Language Line Services Inc. and the Payne County Health Department to provide interpreters for clients on an as-needed basis.

The commission also accepted an agreement for trenching a six-inch line at 68th Avenue and Range Road in Rural Water District No. 3.
