The Stillwater Boy Scout Troop 828 will collect flags this week for its 23rd Annual flag retirement ceremony on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Elks Lodge.

Scout master Jim Smith said the troop retires more than 100 flags every year.

The ceremony will last until all the flags are properly retired one at a time, he said.

Those who would like to have their flags retired this weekend may drop off their flags at the Elks Lodge or State Beauty Supply at any time. Or, they may have their flags picked up by calling Smith at 405-747-5157.

The ceremony coincides with the national Flag Day on June 14. The Elks Lodge will host a separate ceremony on that day at 7 p.m.
