A Perry man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Friday evening on U.S. Highway 77 near Harvest Road in Noble County.
Darrin R. Rucker, 49, was a passenger in a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Lori Lancaster of Perry. Rucker was pronounced dead at the scene. Lancaster was transported by helicopter to OU Medical Center with arm injuries.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Reports, the pickup was northbound when it departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected and departed the roadway to the left and rolled an undetermined number of times as Rucker was ejected.
OHP’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash. The driver’s condition at the time has not been determined. The weather was clear at the time. The report states that the driver was the only one using a seatbelt.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Noble County Sheriff’s Office and Perry Fire Department responded to the crash.
