Jenks’ Amanda Johnson, a sophomore at Oklahoma State this fall, won the WOGA match play title in Bartlesville on Friday.

BARTLESVILLE — Oklahoma State’s Amanda Johnson beat Jenks’ Sarah Dodson in Friday’s title match of the Women’s Golf Association match play championship at Hillcrest Country Club.

Johnson, a freshman from Jenks who played for OSU’s 2006 NCAA Tournament qualifying squad, needed 20 holes to beat Dodson, a senior this fall for the Lady Trojans. Dodson finished second to teammate Anya Alvarez at the 2006 state tourney, an event won by Johnson in 2005.

In the semifinals, Johnson beat Christy Carter, who upset nine-time WOGA champion Patty Coatney, 4 and 3, in the quarterfinals. Johnson’s quarterfinal win came over Lee Ann Fairlie.
