This year the ambassadors and the OSU Botanical Garden staff held their first of what we hope becomes an annual holiday season activity, the Holly-Day. It was a family activity held at the Botanical Garden Dec. 8 with activities for both children and adults.

Activities for the children included making pine cone bird feeders and pine cone Christmas ornaments. While the children were busy with their activity, the parents had an opportunity to make Christmas wreaths. There was also an indoor decoration demonstration and holiday goodies which were prepared as part of the activities.

The Stillwater Community Singers sang several Christmas carols and, as always, did a great job. The path from the Educational Building to the garden was lined with luminaries and the garden was decorated with lights and it was beautiful.

It was beautiful for the families that attended the Holly-Day festivities. But perhaps it was more so for the ambassadors and staff as they saw the garden as a place that can bring beauty and Christmas cheer during the holiday season as well as a place of beauty during the gardening season. We hope the Holly-Day event gets bigger and better every year!
