The Meridian Technology Center Board of Education approved the center’s budget for the 2010-2011 fiscal year at the board’s meeting Tuesday evening.
Meridian Superintendent Doug Major said the budget represented an increase of about $240,500 from last year’s budget. The increase was in spite of a $316,000 decrease in state funding, Major said.
The increase was due mainly to a 4.3 percent property value increase in the district, Major said.
During the meeting, the board was scheduled to hold a hearing to allow time for members of the public to ask questions about the center’s budget and estimate of needs. No questions were asked during the hearing.
