Wreck

A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of north Washington Street and McMurtry Road resulted in Jazmen Aryes Shaw, 21 of Tulsa and an OSU student, being pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pictured vehicle, Berna Dineo Heilmann, 58 of Red Rock, was transported by LifeNet to Stillwater Medical Center, where he was treated and released. 

Shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of U.S. Highway 177 and Lake McMurtry Road resulted in Jazmen Aryes Shaw, 21 of Tulsa and an Oklahoma State University student, being pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the other vehicle was Berna Dineo Heilmann, 58 of Red Rock, who was transported by LifeNet to Stillwater Medical Center where he was treated and released. 

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Shaw was traveling westbound on Lake McMurtry Road in a 2014 Dodge while Heilmann was northbound on U.S. 177 in a 2013 Ford Fusion. According to the report by OHP, Shaw failed to yield at a stop sign and her car was struck on the driver's side door. Seatbelts were worn by both drivers. 

The U.S. 177 and Lake McMurtry Road intersection was closed for two hours and 40 minutes and was reopened at 5:50 p.m.
