Right-hander Shane Cameron tossed a two-hitter and fanned eight in leading Stillwater's American Legion Majors to an 8-0 victory against Edmond Memorial AAA in the second game of a doubleheader Tuesday night at Couch Park diamond.

In the first game of the twinbill, Stillwater's AAA squad trimmed Edmond Memorial, 4-3, on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly by Dustin Cowens in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Majors, now 6-3 on the season, scored twice in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly by Cale Ellis and a passed ball. The Legionnaires added two more runs in the bottom of the second on another sacrifice fly by Ellis and Brennan Dearinger's run-scoring single.

Stillwater tacked on three runs in the bottom of the fifth as Dearinger and Andrew Pool drove in runs. The Legionnaires ended the game on the run-rule in the bottom of the sixth as Ellis reached on an error, went to third on a double by Zach Carter and scored on a single to right by first baseman Zach Seifert.

Cameron was in control as he had a no-hitter through five innings. Memorial's closest chance at scoring ended when a strong, impressive throw by center fielder Wesley Brorsen to catcher Brandon Underwood tagged out Joe Lassiter at home plate in the top of the sixth.

Terry Smalley, Carter and Seifert each had two hits in the Legionnaires' eight-hit attack.

Stillwater remains home tonight, playing Enid's Majors at 8 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader. The AAA Legion plays Enid's Legion at 6 p.m. in the twinbill opener.

Stillwater AAA 4, Edmond Memorial 3

After seeing Edmond Memorial tie the game at 3-all in the top of the seventh, Stillwater rallied for the win as center fielder Ryan Johnson led off with a single and went to second on a throwing error. Kyle Childers' sacrifice bunt moved Johnson to third.

After two straight intentional walks loaded the bases, Johnson trotted home with the game-winner on Cowens' sacrifice fly to center.

Memorial led 2-0 after the top of the third before Stillwater (2-2) scored on a walk, wild pitch and error to make it a 2-1 game. A two-run double by second sacker Mike Patman gave Stillwater a 3-2 lead after five innings.

Brendin Vogt went the distance on the mound to earn the win. He gave up four hits and fanned four. Stillwater ended with six hits, led by Jacob Waddell's two doubles.
