It was once again another stellar year for the track and field teams in the Stillwater News Press coverage area. Several state championships were won, with many more state medals being earned. Here is the list of the All-Area Track and Field athletes for 2019:

Boys

Gauge Blair, Perkins-Tryon

Blair competed in a pair of individual events at the 4A state meet. He placed seventh in the 800-meter run (2:01.27) and 15th in the 400-meter dash (53.14).

Steven Brown, Stillwater

At the 6A meet, Brown ended his sophomore campaign with an 11th-place finish in the long jump. He set a mark of 20-8.75.

Damon Caine, Coyle

At the Class A meet, Caine placed 10th in the 100-meter dash and helped the Bluejackets’ 400- and 800-meter relays place fifth in both races.

Tyler Hurst, Cushing

Hurst was named the News Press Boys’ Track All-Area Athlete of the Year after finishing fourth in the high jump. He cleared 6-0 at the state meet, and helped the 1,600-meter relay team at the state meet.

Salvador Jackson, Coyle

Jackson finished ninth in the 100-meter dash and helped the Bluejackets’ 400- and 800-meter relays place fifth in both races.

Willie Leas, Pawnee

At the Class 2A meet, Lees finished sixth in the long jump. He set a mark of 19-8.5. He was one of two to place individually.

Luke Roberts, Pawnee

Roberts ended his season with a fifth-place finish at the 2A state meet. He set a mark of 43-3 in the shot put.

Tevin Williams, Stillwater

To cap his sophomore season, Williams was a finalist for the 100-meter dash at the 6A meet. He placed seventh in a time of 11.06 seconds.

Girls

Cayden Brickman, Stillwater

As a freshman, Brickman placed 12th in both long distance races. Her time in the 1,600-meter run was 5:29.92. She finished the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:09.95.

Taelor Brown, Pawnee

One half of the Lady Black Bears’ throwing duo, Brown brought home gold in the shot put (38-5) and finished runner-up in the discus (126-1) to her teammate in her senior season.

Nakiyah Jackson, Cushing

Jackson had a great state meet, placing top three in both events. She finished runner-up in the discus (125-5) and placed third in the shot put (39-3).

Dana Lane, Frontier

Lane was a finalist for the 100-meter dash at the Class A meet. She tied for seventh place with a time of 13.2 seconds. She also placed ninth in the high jump (4-8) and long jump (14-7.25).

Coley Larson, Perkins-Tryon

In her final prep event as a Lady Demon, Larson finished fifth in the 400-meter dash (59.82) and place 13th in the 200-meter dash (27.18).

Sara Llamas-Howell, Pawnee

To cap her great career, Llamas-Howell won the discus (127-1) state title and finished third in the shot put (35-7), which was won by her teammate.

Carlee Mollet, Ripley

The other half of the Lady Warriors’ hurdle tandem won the state title in the 300-meter hurdles (46.25) and placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.84).

Kendalyn Stueve, Perry

At the Class 3A meet, Stueve was a medalist in two events. She placed sixth in the 100-meter dash (12.82) and seventh in the pole vault (9-0).

Erica Terrell, Ripley

In her sophomore season, Terrell had another incredible year. She won the state title in the Class A 100-meter hurdles (15.5) and finished third in the 300-meter hurdles (47.3).
