Dawson Myers racked up 13 carries for 180 yards and three touchdowns, as Cushing (6-3, 4-2) ran all over Santa Fe South 41-10 — marking the third time in the last three games the Tigers have broken the 40-point plateau.
Along with Myers touchdown runs of 61 and 48 yards, he also had a 2-yard scamper, while Bingham Hightower completed 4-of-6 passing for 88 yards and a 33-yard touchdown strike to Kyle Knight to give the Tigers a 27-3 lead at the half.
Cody Reneau also had a 5-yard run in the third quarter as Cushing racked up 307 rushing yards.
Hominy 32, Yale 28
HOMINY – A week after clinching a playoff berth, the Bulldogs struggled coming out of the gate. Yale (4-5, 3-3), trailed 20-6 at the half but bounced back late before falling 32-28.
Jacob Frick led Yale, carrying the ball 19 times for 124 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a 22-yard touchdown pass from Konner Fowler — the Bulldogs only score of the first half.
Fowler completed 4-of-8 passes for 54 yards to go along with five carries for 18 yards, while Hominy held Dryden Winterbottom to four carries for 22 yards after he racked up over 200 yards against Barnsdall last week.
