The Oklahoma State football team went through its fourth practice of the spring and its second full-pads drill Monday afternoon on the turf of Boone Pickens Stadium.

“I am excited about our team ... I really am,” said head coach Mike Gundy after the workout. “They do the right things. They work hard, they go to class, they’re on time.”

Gundy thought Monday’s workout marked a step forward for the team in general and specifically singled out some of the younger Cowboys.

“It was a nice day for some young wideouts,” he said. “(Jeremy) Broadway made some plays — and Artrell Woods. “I say young, but (Anthony) Parks is inexperienced, and he made some plays. DeMarcus Conner made some plays and Alex Cate threw the ball well. Quency Patrick on the defensive line made some nice plays. (Derek) Burton showed up, and Kenny Alexander, the high schooler, made some nice plays out there.”

The Cowboys will practice Wednesday and Friday before taking a week off for spring break.
